Only way to assess Campusano is getting him at least 4 AB's every game over....however long he's up.

No more stupid management decisions activating him just to sit for 2 weeks.

Let the guy play EVERY day. Let's FINALLY see what we have.

This is not the time to find out what they have in Campusano (my guess is they already have a firm opinion) … in a neck and neck race for the playoffs with MILW they need to go with who they think is there best option. However, they will have to use Campusano a few times to catch and DH is my guess … and he better show well in those opportunities.

💯.. But Campy playing for Alfaro should at least give us a glimpse of the future..

Meanwhile we got off the blocks great for the final Sprint of the season... now is head down and legs pumping with only the finish line ahead ..No excuses..time to Sprint to the finish line... LFGSDP...

The prospect I would like to see get some reps is Eguy Rosario. His past two months in EP have been outstanding. OPS in July at 1.119 and Aug at .991 and has shown both power and speed. He can fill at 3B/2B and maybe DH. If Drury does not get his act together on this road trip … could see him lose playing time to Rosario as the RHH option.

However, no slam dunk on Rosario … since often those AAA stats don’t translate and a lot of his production was compiled at home in EP … less so on the road (but not bad).

As it stands, Rosario is positioned to be come the #1 back-up INF for 2023 … probable that the Padres let Drury walk as a FA.

Well I am hoping this road trip yields a lot of wins … at least 7-2 … while MILW hits the skids giving some breathing room in securing the playoff slot. Plus (although appearing to be a long shot given how PHIL is playing) making a move on the 2nd WC.

Padres hit in AWAY games … bullpen is hot … playing lesser team … this is the best opportunity to position before the tougher SEPT schedule.

LAD games are going to be a problem … they BY FAR have the best record in MLB and doubt they let down against the Padres. On the other hand, SF seems to be sinking quickly (probably already out of playoff contention) and may not be as motivated to play at their peak in SEPT as they play more of the potential 2023 players.

Padres have the talent (on paper) to win in the playoffs if they start playing to their histories … and that can just click in without notice. Plus, oddly, given their HOME/AWAY profile … they may actually have an advantage of being the 5th or 6th playoff slot and playing AWAY from PETCO (not for the home fans though).

As it stands a #6 … v STL … v. LAD … v NYM/ATL/PHIL winner.

#5 … v ATL … v NYM … v LAD/STL/PHIL winner

Although ATL is hot … NYM have cooled a bit … could see ATL and NYM flip positions.

The bracket i saw shows #6;@ St Louis..winner playing NLEast winner in rd 2.. meaning LAD in NLCS if both of us make it that far... The way Atlanta is playing wouldn't surprise me if they Win the East...

So #6;ST Louis rd 1..( Atl or Mets) rd 2.. LAD/(or Braves/Phils/Mets) NLCS

Or #5 vs (Atl or Mets) rd 1.. LAD rd 2 and winner of the other bracket in NLCS

Either way is fine ...#6 seems a bit easier but at that point it don't matter just got to win period

Think you are correct on the sequence.

The Royals are moving Lynch up a day to make today's start. Jonathan Healsey a righty who is 1-7 with a 5.21 ERA is starting on Sunday.

So no Greinke .  That works for me.. Greinke been downright dominant @ Home in KC

Normally I’d agree but with what we were getting from Alfaro and even Nola how much of a drop off will it really be?

And maybe he hits?

Defensively though yes,it  could be an issue….
