The issue is Gore himself…..not the opponent.
He’s not placing his fastball where he needs too….and he’s in his head like Snell.
I just hope he isn’t tipping his pitches so they know when the FB is coming and then on top of that getting too much of the plate with it.
He went from virtually un hittable to bad….I don’t think that’s because it’s the Rockies.

On the pre-game they were highlighting Gore’s problem in the COLO game in SD. Clearly it was command. Had a full sequence of the catcher showing low targets and Gore missing well above the zone … those were BIG command misses. Plus he couldn’t correct in-game. Has to be a mechanics hiccup to be that far off.
Would not surprise me to hear an IL stint is coming … maybe the useful “right oblique” limiting his motion.

One good thing about these 2 games is that they probably remove Gore from the ROY lead and give the Padres an extra year of control over him. Every rookie will hit roadblocks. I expect Gore to learn and make corrections.

My understanding of the rule is that if a player who has been held down long enough to gain an extra year of control goes on to finish 1st or 2nd in ROY voting they would be awarded a full year instead of whatever partial amount they accrued. Gore wasn't held down long enough for that to matter, so unless we send him down his standing in the ROY race isn't going to matter in regards to his service time.

Ugh…..how many sliders in the dirt are we gonna swing at?
Hosmer,with 2 runners on,swung at the first 2 pitches he saw and you could tell he had decided to swing at both on his way up to the batters box.🙄
Ugly ugly AB…..and not the only one.

What is Hosmer thinking/doing?
He obviously is not in a good place right now so he needs to sit.
I mean…I have never been one to dog on him but he’s swinging at pitchers that never even reach the plate.
