Alfaro is obviously catcher #1, Campusano the future( hopefully sooner rather than later).

Nola has been the backup to Alfaro for about 2 weeks .. he is ok as a backup
Nola has 3 years control and is low cost … plus having his worst season. OK with letting Alfaro take the #1 slot and Nola back-up while trying to work back to his past successes … at least part way. Remember that 2023 is Alfaro’s last control year and, if he continues at his 2022 pace will command a large raise.
On one hand, maybe over the winter, would be OK with moving on from Nola if there was a good offer … never have been convinced of this long term role given his age and size for a catcher. On the other hand, not yet sold on Campusano as the catcher of the future … his defense remains suspect and sure did not look good in his brief ML shot offensively. Basically have to see more before ceding the #1 Catching role to him.

Then again Nola 2B..bring up Campusano for C behind Alfaro... also Rooker been up 2x without playing..but Profar 2B..Crone SS..Kim 3B..maybe Rooker/Mazara in the COFs spots....
IAN HAPP 3B/2B/all OF spots and a Decent Big Stick... looking like a serious AJP target at this moment... i rolled my ankle really bad playing football to the point all my ligaments stretched to their limits it balloon like a cantaloupe and within 2 weeks I was back on the field... so some heal fast ..some take 2 months.. lets hope many has my recovery gene ..

Padres 3 runs on 10 hits.

Snell is virtually un tradeable at the moment.
Would have to pay his entire salary and even then wouldn’t get much worth having.
May need to just use him as a long man out of the pen once we have all our starters back.
Darvish/Manaea/Musgrove/Clevinger/Gore/Martinez with Snell in the Pen if we want to keep the 6 man.
Just don’t see Snell worth trading…who would want him?
