Phillips I've been following a bit and he has some nice swing and miss to his game and I think could be a nice get down the line (ready by late 23/2024).. Grisham would be an excellent CF in the much smaller park..very low cost and long controlled for the Reds.. and probably at least hit 20-25 bombs in that sandbox... Lamet gives Reds a solid experiment..back to SP or develops into an excellent BP arm and gets flipped next deadline(23).   Efrain Contreras gives Reds a down the line P who may turn out or not...

A win win trade.. we get rid of the "black hole" in CF... get the scrappy Naquin and the potential of Ruiz and a P who likely cracks our top 10 (a current need in our system)

Is Myers 3 weeks out or 2? If 3 60 day.. if 2 or less (after AS) then no 60..Stamen 60..does that prevent him from 40 (before Sept 1st- thus no postseason??)...a small trade this morning/afternoon...

Myers is about to go on rehab in LE this week ... given his time off likely activated post-All Star break after some time rehabbing.

Does sound as though Stammen to the 60 day could be the option but think they want him around if needed later in the year (insurance) ... so expect a minor league player to get the DFA baring a trade. Sullivan who is not really a good prospect and 4th in line after Alfaro - Nola - Campusano.

If Naquin replaces Grisham

IF Ruiz replaces Batten

IF Profar replaces Azocar

Who does Myers replace? Voit?

Who does Tatis replace? Abrams?

Plus that does not even consider adding a major bat as an add.

Like Naquin as a part time player v RHP but maybe looking more for a full time "bigger" bat in this line-up.

I think Scott has minor league options ... and RP depth, I guess. Probably will get optioned to make room for Morejon this week. That is why I lean towards a DFA of a minor leaguer ... leading me to Sullivan.

Padres may be forced ... at some point soon ... to move a 26 man RP without options to accommodate Johnson, Suarez, and Pomeranz so need to hold on to some reserves. If Scott was good enough to be added to the 40 man and called up ... probably good enough to hold on to for now.

Agree and the sequence may depend on who arrives and when to the 26 man. Plus can they find a taker for either one lest they just DFA and hope someone claims them.

I sort of lean toward Voit 1st whose bat can be covered by the return of Tatis - Profar - Myers while eliminating a one role player (DH). Also, allows for greater flexibility in getting Abrams - Kim into the line-up.

Yes, frustrated with Grisham but at least he can play the field if necessary ... but then it is just a matter of time.

3 /40 spots traded..1/40 incoming.. we offset the prospect (Hassell) overpay from our part by getting a solid prospect (AA) with some Power projection for 23-2024... and add Rosario to the deal to give A's an IF ready soon/now with no room in SD...

Money saved on Voit can be used to replace him with an external BAT with more position flex and better ball contact skills (Mancini like)
