The Nats have only won 4 games this month. The Pirates have lost 10 straight. I don't think you could ask for a much better setup for a winning streak than what we have over the next 6 games. They need to take advantage. The next 15 after they leave Pittsburgh are against the Reds, Angels, Mets, Phillies and Blue Jays. They play the Rangers later in July too. It would be nice to go into that stretch hot.

According to MLBTR shoulder fatigue for Wacha. With the way he is pitching, hope he is not out to long.

Heard Melvin say they were just skipping one start for Wacha but the pessimist in me worries.

Really worried Waldron was the guy they added … maybe hoping the unknown of the knuckleball baffles WASH. Bypassing Weathers, Avila, Knehr, Groome, who are on the 40 man and bypassing all the other non-roster options is a bit concerning … even passing on a bullpen day (although may end up that way).

Yeah hopefully this isn't another case of the team underreporting the severity of the injury. With the way he's been pitching losing Wacha would be a big blow. I think Waldron being added probably had more to do with him being on schedule to make a start than anything else. I am curious to see him though. He's among the last of a dieing breed. His numbers don't look good this year, but he was really good at AA last year. Maybe the knuckleball will play better outside of the PCL.

Also on Kim (not confirmed) but did hear a report that said Kim is leading MLB in DRS … that would be a big tribute to his defense and somewhat under the radar performance.

Under control through next season which is good … he clearly is a fan favorite in the ballpark with that chanting his name and love his hustle / outward enthusiasm …. Makes a fun watch. He is still young enough to start creating a buzz for an extension that would stabilize the INF for years … and when Merrill arrives (really the only INF in the system with real high projection) he could stay INF and provide a 5 player rotation through the DH (or be converted to an OF … clearly a projected need).
