Would anyone be surprised if Snell threw 7 shutout innings or 4 innings with no control ? Lets hope for typical postseason stats from him ( 2.83 ERA)

It's Snellzilla Bro he is going to dominate!

ERAs in the last three starts:

Snell 0.50

deGrom 6.60

Win tonight would be huge!

For the obvious reason and also to set up Musgrove/Darvish/Snell against the dodgers.

No way we start Manaea in game 1 otherwise…..do we?

I think Manaea and Clevinger swap spots if we make it to the next round. If we win in 3 Clevinger starts game 1. If they win today he would probably be lined up for game 4, but there could be some interesting decisions to be made depending on how the series goes.

Is there still some question on Clevinger’s health (Knee)? Know he passed the COVID tests … that is not the issue … but when he went to IL there were some concerns another issue.

Has time on his side … but something to consider.

Best for the Padres is a win today and go to the 5 game set Musgrove - Darvish - OFF - Snell -  TBD - Musgrove. (Although how each games goes could change the timing for the TBD).

Snell goes 5 tonight and leaves with a 6-0 lead.

Manaea pitches the 7th-9th.

Last I read Clevinger had been dealing with the knee all season, but they felt like they had finally found a good treatment plan to help him deal with it. It sounds like something that might need to be addressed in the off-season.

Guardians eliminate Rays … 1-0 in 15 innings! Rays score one run in 24 innings over the two games (on a HR).

Great pitching or good pitching vs poor hitting? Cleveland and TB are two of the poorest hitting (slugging) teams in the AL. Cleveland is 4th lowest payroll in MLB and the youngest team … yes for the underdog! On to NY and the NYY.

————————————-

Side: on the broadcast this season yielded the lowest league BA since 1968 (after which they lowered to mound) … and the lowest OBP since 1971.

Maybe the new rules in 2023 will put some life back into the offense but until then some of “old guys” will have to modify our evaluation of players to today’s reality.

Also of note is that almost all the runs in the games are product of HR … seems to be the standard for post season. No idea why … just is.

Grish again!! Oppo field, ties it up.

Grish is our CFer for 2023. Tatis, this is LF its all yours!
