technically into the 5th playoff slot 0.5 games ahead of PHIL … tied in loses but Padres have one more win.

If Manaea can get back on track, tonight would be a big time to certainly do it. Just playing himself off of the playoff roster, in my opinion, especially with the amount of bullpen arms. Needs to get out of his funk and hope it’s just a really bad stretch

Unfortunately it looks like Manea has already pitched himself out of qualifying offer territory. Damn. I wanted that extra first round draft pick.

Or it gives the padres the opportunity to bring back the same full starting rotation for next season. Manaea may be pitching himself into a much cheaper contract and might give the padres flexibility to bring both him and Clevinger back

Are you sure we want him back at any price? Time to move on with Morejon, Groome, Martinez (maybe), PTNL ….
