The Depth clearly... our SP is just as good as theirs... our Offense I think out hit them every game thus series....we just have been out homered in every game.... I think Tatis helps this down the stretch...But yeah the BP (they've had their injuries too) is light years ahead of ours at the moment...won't be the case when Pomz/Johnson/Adams/Wilson and Suarez come back. ... not great the situation we are currently in our BP

Bottom line Padres 66 HRs rank 24th
Dodgers 91 HRs rank #1
1/2 way in season safe to assume Tatis would have 20.. that would be 84 (maybe Kim has only 2 with less ABs) to 86 or top 5/6th in HRs..
So maybe stop looking at the Beninrendi types and start looking at the Santender (15 bombs) types as deadline options

Might be the most embarrassing game of the season.
Bad base running….bad communication….letting a pop up fall….swinging at 3 ball fours that never even made it to the catcher and then Alfaro admiring a double into a single.
Amazing it’s still only 1-0 and we have a chance to actually win still…..or do we?

Not that I disagree with anything you said, but I'm going to need you to start going negative early in every game thread from now on MrP. It might just be the spark this team needs. What a 9th inning rally.

That was a critical win to not totally lose touch with the LAD and not slide in the wild card slotting.
Big hits by Hosmer and Kim … who would have thuck.
Plus give kudos to Gore / Martinez holding the LAD to 1 run into the 9th … and Profar making another great throw to get Betts out at the plate (second in MLB in OF assist I think).
