Padres vs Dbacks

So we play Arizona again in 5 days.
Do you think they are sick of seeing Tatis yet?
Will they start pitching around him some?
When you are this good opponents will do just that...he has to have the patience to take the walks and get on base.....so they will have to go back to pitching to him.
If he starts reaching every one else will do the same.
Patience young grasshopper!

Lamet was filthy , he's our # 1. Patino has more work to do . Didn't have the feel for offspeed pitches. He isn't ready to start, leave it to Quantrill . Keep giving Patino lots of relief work when possible . I know it's way way too early but we are in the 6th spot for playoffs and I think we can get much better as a team .

Actually in the 7th playoff slot now .... need to pass either the LAD or COLO to jump to likely the #4 slot.
1 - 3 go to the Division winners seeded by record
4 - 6 go to the 2nd place finisher seeded by record
7 - 8 go to the next two based on record
So from a rooting standpoint ... need to focus on COLO (or LAD) to hit a big losing streak while the Padres keep winning. That is the only formula to allow the Padres move above the #7 seed.
Frustrating for the Padres that while AZ who was thought to be the primary contender for 2nd place in the West has tanked ... COLO begin playing way above expectations.

It's a horrible thing but we basically need to root for the Dodgers to sweep the Rockies every time they meet.

Absolutely .... and the Padres need to take care of business one on one with COLO at the end of this month and early next month (7 games I think) .... also, a good time for AZ to put it back together for a bit as they too are getting some games vs. COLO and deal them at least some losses. Basically everyone needs to hump it up vs. COLO and lay losses on them.

I'm thinking that the Padres will do better against Kelly this time around. Need a solid game from Lamet and a strong bull-pen effort because the D-backs have the hitters that can come back late. Go Padres!

No transactions, so Lamet goes with no Perdomo or Patino available. If Quantrill had to pitch tonight, plan B might be for Patino to start tomorrow? Really need a strong effort from Lamet & a bounce back in general from whole team!
