Padres @ Rangers July 2-4

Nice road trip…if anyone had told me on a bet that they would go 4-2 after going to Boston and then Texas I would have lost money. Unlike last year this team has a way of grinding out wins and it’s been a total team effort and it starts with Mike Shildt…Melvin would be satisfied with a 2-4 trip.
Now a little home cooking and put some distance between us and the Dbacks
Go Padres!!!

I wonder how much of the guys’ grinding and cohesiveness has to do with Shildt and his positive spin when they lose. Does that type of thing make them want to play hard for him?
