Who went down for Azocar?

Batten. Should have been Carpenter.

Interesting stat( or at least I think so).

The On Base % of our first 4 hitters over the past 30 games are as follows:

1) Kim .473

2) Tatis .250

3) Soto .370

4) Machado. 350

Other than FTJ, that's a solid amount of guys getting on base for your 5 hitter

You know how many RBI Bogaerts has in his last 30 games? 5........That seems almost impossible to have with that many baserunners on base when you come up to bat, doesn't it?

May as well cut and run on Carpenter.

Bring up Gamel or Sullivan for a LH bat off the bench.

Would be curious how many he has left in scoring position.

Cause I would assume Soto and Manny are driving most of those guys in.

Azocar and Grisham working 7 pitch AB's. We'll need more of that if we're going to get to the D backs bullpen sooner rather than later.

Score is 4-2 padres and they brought in Nick Martinez so I turned the game off and did something else and my wife told me that Martinez gave up a two run hr to tie the game…I just laughed….for me the game was over when Martinez came in and my wife confirmed it

This was the loss that finally sunk my confidence we could still make the WC.

Needed a sweep…would have been OK with 2 of 3.

This team is done unless they can go on a 6-8 game win streak.

We still have not been able to win 4 in a row….and now we have the O’s.

I have to believe the Clubhouse is full of negativity right now.

Rumors of jobs in jeopardy etc…

Not a good mix and a sudden turnaround seems unlikely.

So much for meaningful games in September…it’s possible but…..🤷🏻‍♂️

This is pretty much how I feel too. It's still possible. I just don't believe it's going to happen anymore. They've pulled me back in a couple times, but every time I think they might be starting to put it together they crumble again.

It's hard to believe that we added Tatis and Bogaerts to a lineup that went to the NLCS, that we have Kim playing like an MVP, Snell pitching like a CY, and Wacha and Lugo working out as free agent signings and we somehow got worse. I wanted to think the talent would win out at some point. I think it's time to accept that it's just not going to happen.

Great starting pitching...great defense...great run differential.

Offense is top half of the league...you would think all that would translate to at least .500.

I truly believe it's just "one of those seasons".

We have scored more runs than the Giants and our pitchers have allowed less...yet here we are.

This entire season boils down to "when" we score..."when" we get our hits.

If I've seen it once I've seen it 50 times...first 2 hitters get out...then we proceed to get a couple hits and/or a walk and leave them stranded.

We can't seem to score late in games to put teams away or come from behind.

We can't win the close ones.

This isn't the popular sentiment around here but most of this comes down to luck.

These guys who knock in runs don't just forget how after the 7th or with guys on...it's just been a weird season.

I truly believe this offense is good enough as is...we need to add depth to the lineup for sure...and figure out the pitching situation (Pen and bottom 1/2 of rotation) for 24' but I don't think wholesale changes need to be made and I don't personally put this on the Coaching staff. However I do realize sometimes a change has to be made for appearances and motivation.

AJ blew it on Cruz and esp. Carpenter....and he should have done more or got different players at the deadline.Hill wasn't gonna do anything for us.

Losing Wacha and Musgrove has exposed our lack of pitching depth in the upper minors(traded away)
