The Diamondbacks are winless in August having lost 8 straight. They are 8-24 since the start of July. With 7 of the next 10 against each other this could be a chance for both teams to either salvage their season's or get buried.

I can't believe we're actually still in play for a wildcard spot, given our absolute abysmal showing over the past week, and general sub par performance all year long.
That said, the D Backs have been playing worse than us. Obviously, a clean sweep puts us right back in the thick of things. I sure hope that is the case but I'm more inclined to believe we'll get more of the same lethargic, non committed ball we've seen since April.
Outside of Kim, no one seems to give a shit.

It does sort of seem like no one wants to grab that 3rd wildcard spot. I already brought up the Diamondbacks recent struggles. The Reds are 2-8 in their last 10, the Marlins are 3-7 and we're 4-6 and riding a 4 game losing streak. The Cubs are the only ones playing well. One good streak could still change everything if we could actually put one together.

If you described that first inning and asked me which of the 30 starting pitchers it happened too I wouldn’t have hesitated a second to say it was Blake Snell.
25 pitches….2 walks….a pickle between 3rd and home,a squib double down the line,a dropped pop up,a passed ball resulting in an out at home….and only 1 run scored.

Nice game for Snell and the offense. Now go do it again tomorrow and the next day and the next day.

Nice win last night but is it just a tease or the start of a run. I liked the fact that they answered back in the 9th and put up a crooked number. Hopefully the sense of urgency has finally taken hold and these guys play like it….this is a spot in the schedule where they can start reeling in teams in front of them and get themselves in the playoff picture.
Gotta get to .500 first

Once there, THEN think about playoffs.
Nice to see Bogaerts have his first decent game since.....May? Guy has been such a HUGE, MASSIVE disappointment. If he can find his stroke the next 40 games, it'll really lengthen the lineup( gap between top 4 and bottom 2 or 3 has been a black hole all year)
On the topic of black hole's in the lineup, what are our numbers in the 2 hole? Tatis was rolling in the lead off spot- hitting $1.50 since his demotion to 2! Kid is most definitely NOT a 2 hole hitter( same as Soto)

I like Hill's approach and tenacity. Just hope is stuff is up to the fight.
Chance for a win against a very good pitcher. Put some wind in our sails.
