Melvin may have zero faith in the two but has to use them at some point (especially Garcia) so as to not burn out the rest of the team ... and maybe make a point to Preller to make a move or two. Preller may be on his case to use them ... Preller is the boss.

 

Was about to say the same. Preller constructed this roster without leaving Melvin much choice but to use guys like Garcia and Carpenter.

Yep, they do tease with a blowout performance then the offense just disappears ... not a formula to 2 out of every 3 games for the rest of the season to make the Wild Card.
