It is "late", but isn't normal season 7 PM PST = 10 EST?

Hosmer penciled in batting 5th. Hope he's well enough to play; he's .346 in 26 AB vs Samardzija...

#1 - #5 looks the same v RHP (maybe the go to option).
Think they flipped Profar to #6 and Myers to #7 ... Profar’s long ABs and walks seem to have earned him a more important role.
Mejia in at #8 ... Davies by all accounts is usually around the plate, good command which should make him an “easy” pitcher for Mejia.
Naylor DH at #9 ... after his lackluster performance last time out this one may be important to his future on the active roster after the cutdown to 28 then 26 plus the eventual arrival of Mateo. Cronenworth looks good in his brief appearance in the field, on the bases, and AB .... clearly more versatile and Garcia has been clutch vs. RHP.

In my opinion, Pham and Machado looked "tired" at the plate yesterday, so it's good to see Hosmer back in the line-up given his good start. I still would have rested at least one of the two today, but the cooler air in SF might perk both of them up. Got to get some production from Mejia and Naylor at the bottom of the line-up to push baserunners around on the "Shark". Davies should be a good test for the SF line-up, who showed great patience and timely hitting in games 3 and 4 against the Dodgers. Their bull-pen looked strong against the Dodgers after the first two games, including ex-Padre Trevor Gott. Go Padres!

I thought all West Coast games were starting at 6pm Pacific but I guess it’s just the games at Petco.

Get to watch on mlb network, although listening to Giants announcers is brutal, Kuiper is non stop complaining about strike zone. Tatis looks great like usual, big 3 run shot. Nice easy swing by Will. Made a great sound with no fans in the stands. Kind of interested to see who relieves after Davies , who looks real good through 4 innings.

Davies looked good but really not great defense from Machado / Pham in the 1st or the 6th.

I know a LHP came in for SF but still don’t understand the PH of France for Naylor that early and with a 5 - 1 lead. Cronenworth or Garcia could PH for France later in the game if needed but would have thought there would be benefit of having Naylor see a LHP for the future and save those other two options if needed later.

That AB for Machado in the 8th is the reason we paid him $300 mil.
2 on with 1 out late in a close game....he needs to get a run in.
He just looks like he’s not zoned in and in a short season we don’t need to be waiting for our highest paid player to
“get ready”.
