Besides the obvious reasons of not moving Tatis to Cf,his arm and Platinum glove,I cringe just thinking about him running wild out there and diving for balls to his left and right.

Even in RF he is still diving for balls so that is really a wash. However, in CF he would not have the harder RF boundary walls to run into, so that could be beneficial.

No more worried about Tatis getting injured in CF v RF given his past had him getting injured at SS, running the bases, and hitting.

Hard to move a platinum glove RF off RF BUT if looking longer term (and if you believe he can be a gold glove CF) might have to consider it given the assumption that Marsee is not really the CF of the future … Zavala (like Marsee) is more a corner OF and 3 years out … Head is 4 years out (if he develops). Meanwhile Marsee, Pauley, and Merrill all COULD fill corner OF spots next year and solidifying the OF on the cheap.

How about we sign Bellinger for 300 million? 5 mill for 10 years then 2 mill for the next 100  years (sarcasm) .  Seems to be ok if LA does it

Shocking!  That would be bad for baseball!

I get AJ's reluctance to extend Kim right now after his GG and improved offense. We would be paying him at his highest value.

I think.

He could do it again and price us out of his market or we could afford him better after this season.

Hard to say.

But waiting till the trade deadline to decide I understand

"No more worried about Tatis getting injured in CF v RF given his past had him getting injured at SS, running the bases, and hitting."

Have to agree to disagree.

He will still be hitting and running the bases but now has two defenders to avoid and balls further to both directions he will be tracking down.

He just still tries to do "too much".

I will remain worried if he moves...plus everytime a runner goes 1st to 3rd or 2nd to home I'll wonder if they wouldn't have even tried with him in RF.

Interesting that the much rumored trade target Cease sign to avoid arbitration for $8MM … LESS than the MLTradeRumors estimate of $8.8MM. Now that is not a lot but in this market’s FA costs and with Boras as his agent … seems counter to a Boras approach.

Wonder if Boras just wanted to get Cease’s 2024 deal done as quickly as possible to help facilitate a trade … eliminate the salary unknown and the process / conflict of an arbitration case.

CWS are still demanding a major major return but in the market short of good SP … some team might just pay the premium for 2 years of control.

The other interesting arb case to watch will be Burnes and MIL. If you recall last offseason MIL really "beat him up" during the process and Burnes was really upset about the whole thing.

Considering that he is also a potential trade candidate, you have to wonder if Burnes will try and "stick it" to MIL and have it drag out. It would be the opposite of Cease, and taking out the question mark of salary for Burnes, and possibly making it more difficult for MIL to make a move if they are inclined to do so.

Bieber also settled his arb case today as well, eliminating that question mark as well. Agreeing to $13.125M a little higher than the MLBTR estimate.

These Starters are even better trade candidates now.

Their cost is a known quantity....my guess is with the cost of free agent Starters Cease does get moved.

The White Sox are not winning anything in '24 and Cease for $8 mil is worth a lot in trade to "someone".

I saw one SD blurb guy suggest that SD trade Lesko, Thorpe, Martorella, and Hawkins for Cease. Sounds like a lot to me.

IF SD was to even think about pulling a trigger on something like that, try and get Andrew Vaughn as well for 1B.
