IF they can get him on the right contract, he might be the guy for us. Platoon with Margot in CF, or does Margot go to bench role/defensive replacment/pinch runner.

Shogo Akiyama anyone?

I brought him up in July/August as a FA possibility ... Shogo/Margot in CF... Dickerson (FA) in LF.. Renfroe /Naylor in RF... Although one of these last 2 maybe gone ..along with Myers

I agree with you Booster! I miss the old game. But I think Ronald Acuna led the NL in SB with 37. 37! I remember guys stealing 70. It wasn't that long ago, was it? I think guys like Akiyama are seriously undervalued in today's game. Good, because we may actually be able to afford him now. I think this World Series will prove the worth of true hitters. With the amazing pitching in this WS, all those launch angle HR hitters are going to be useless. It will be guys like Soto and Altuve who make things happen. Akiyama could possibly be that kind of guy for us.

I tried to give you credit, and quoted you in the LHH option thread. Good call. Im gonna puke though if Naylor plays more than 15 innings in RF for us. IF he HAS to play OF, please keep it in LF.

I remember when guys like Henderson, Coleman, and others were stealing around a 100 bags a year. I think as the saying goes, everything in moderation. I think that is what this WS is going to show. You cant have all sluggers, and you cant have all singles guys, you need a mix. And hopefully thats what we can have in SD soon.

We have real power with Renfroe, Tatis and Machado. We have real speed with Tatis (and hopefully Akiyama). I think we need a couple of Tony Gwynn type hitters. Guys who can be counted on to make life difficult on pitchers, to come through in the clutch. I am still hoping Urias can be that type of hitter(although I think he will need to give up the leg lift he added last year to add power). Naylor is actually looking like he may be that kind of hitter(but he has no position). Dickerson definitely is. Akiyama could be. That would make for a great mix, don't you think?

So what are we hoping for in a line up next year.

Against RHSP - 1. Akiyama - CF, 2. Tatis Jr - SS, 3. Machado - 3B, 4. Dickerson - LF, 5. Mejia - C, 6. Hosmer - 1B, 7. Cordero - RF, 8. Urias - 2B.

Against LHSP - 1. Akiyama - RF, 2. Tatis Jr - SS, 3. Machado - 3B, 4. Renfroe - LF, 5. France - 1B, 6. Urias - 2B, 7. Hedges - C, 8. Margot - CF.

I have a feeling Naylor is going to be Jon Kruk 2.0 .. And thats pretty good.. And I mean great at the plate and a tick or 2 (not JDM/Kemp terrible) below avg on the field.. But I still think if AJP can get a Dickerson type COF bat and say Shogo ..Naylor likely gets traded to an AL team most likely.. Still like the idea of Lucchesi + Naylor + Myers + + for Price + Benintendi..

There is NO WAY you are getting Benintendi out of BOS for less than Gore plus others. You could probably convince them to do Price for Myers, Luchessi, and Naylor. Benintendi is too vital to their on field success next year, and to getting them under the CBT.
