Milwaukee Brewers at San Diego Padres: Sept 22-24

PreviousPage 2 of 4Next

Good way to get the clinching win for the fans ... at home sellout .. extra innings ... come from behind in 10th and 11th ... against a playoff opponent with the best record in the NL  Has to be very satisfying.

Looks as though MILW ... enjoying its clinch of a bye ... is already starting to re-set the SP and likely will be giving regulars days off.

Today they go with Bruce Zimmerman ... 30 year old SP who has not pitched in the ML since 2023 and in his ML run (27 starts / 11 relief) had an unsightly 5.57 ERA. Should be good for the Padres ... unless

the Padre celebration for clinching last night wiped them out and Shildt gives as many of the "stars" the day off to recover.

Either way ... tonight should be "different".

Line-ups are NOT out yet but heard that Tatis has been sent to have some tests ... not feeling well still ... and has been asked NOT to come to the ballpark.

Maybe worried it may be something that could get spread to the rest of the team.

San Diego Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. is battling an unknown illness, according to president of baseball operations, A.J. Preller.

The Padres are hoping to get their superstar back later this week, once he recovers and the results of his tests are in. He is being tested for influenza and COVID-19, among other illnesses, to gain a clearer picture of his health.

NYM are not helping us out, they are already down by 4 in the 4th.

But my seat is good here at Wrigley.
