Milwaukee Brewers at San Diego Padres: Sept 22-24

PreviousPage 3 of 4Next

DBacks come back in the 9th and beats LA.

NL West???

The hard part is that they have to win pretty much every game. I hope the Mariners don't clinch until at least Saturdays, it seems unlikely though.

The Brewers changed their SP for tomorrow. The Padres will not face top pitcher Quinn Priester. Instead, it will be RHP Chad Patrick vs Dylan Cease.

Wonder if Murphy is not only setting up his playoff rotation (and resting key SP) ... but strategically not using his best arms vs SD now so they don't see them potentially giving MILW an advantage if the Padres face them in the playoffs?

Sure helping SD's long shot to pass LAD / CUBS.

Vasquez pitched one of his better games ... had command ... Brewers were not making good contact.  His 3.73 ERA over 132.2 innings this year has really stabilized a SP staff ... key with Pivetta for where the Padres are. He now sits in the top 40 pitchers in MLB with at least 130 innings and that 3.73 ERA.

Being only 26 ... and 5 years control ... should be a stabilizing force for the staff for years to come at low cost.

Let's hope the boys can take advantage of it.

Game 3 Lineup
1. Arraez 1B
2. Macado 3B
3. Merrill CF
4. Sheets LF
5. Bogaerts SS
6. O'Hearn DH
7. Laureano RF
8. Cronenworth 2B
9. Fermin C

Cease P

F... blue, the same pitch he screwed Cease 3 times, called it a strike vs Fermín, 2026 and the challenge system can't come soon enough. 🤦

The Dodgers are winning big leading 8-0. They will win the division today. The Dbacks pitcher who gave up 7 of the Dodgers 8 runs is none other than former Padre Nabil Crismatt.
