The Padres are riding high after coming off a sweep of the Braves and will be playing the Dodgers, who just swept The twins. The Padres and Dodgers will play each other 7 times in the next 10 games.
They almost took the series last month with Ohtani on the mound, but lost due to a botched throw to first by Miller on a pickoff attempt that changed the game. The only win was a pitching duel between King and Yamamoto with the final score 1-0. Ohtani not pitching in this series and they will be facing Sasaki for the first time.
Vasquez is coming off his worst start of the season allowing the Rangers to score 7 runs(6 ER). In all but two starts he has allowed 4 runs or less. Buehler, who has been rocky and unreliable early in the season, has become the ace and the most reliable and consistent pitcher of the team as of late. He has a 2.05 ERA in his last 5 starts and a 1.71 ERA in 4 starts in June. King is coming off an outstanding performance shutting down the Braves in 7 IP.

Padres beat L.A. taking game 1.
Buehler was outstanding. He seems to back to form. He has become the best pitcher on the team.
France does it again with his 3-run shot. He and Buehler have earned a contract extension.
Vasquez vs Yamamoto tomorrow.

I was a little nervous after they squandered some of the early opportunities to add on. That was a really strong effort from Buehler and the bullpen. Getting the late runs to save Miller could be big too. It's always good to beat the Dodgers.

Yeah right after we left the bases loaded twice in a row I just knew it would come back to haunt us.
But,it didn’t….and we didn’t have to use Miller.

Tatis needs to learn when to be daring and when not too.
With 1 out in the 2nd inning with bases empty in a 0-0 game isn’t the time to turn a 1b into a 3b.
