LHH OPTIONS FOR 2020

Question on Corey Dickerson ... on paper he seems like a very good FA that clearly fits the Padres.
However, on a couple of Top FA list (anywhere from top 20 to top 50) his name is missing (or I am just missing it). Is there something that I am missing ... I do know he had a broken foot in Sept but would think that would be fine by ST.
I guess that could be a hidden benefit if that lowers his signing price point.
Also, Akiyama is not being listed (the other Japanese slugger is on some). Again, maybe suggesting he too may have a lower signing price point.
Getting both on the cheap might be really valuable ... or maybe they just are not that good and signing would be really a waste. Need more scouting reports on them.

Find this rather interesting.. Naylor hitting .341/.400/.415 only 1 extra base hit a HR -- in 45 PA's.. Since Tingler was the Manager there kind of wondering if he changed Naylor's focus at the plate to be more OBP conscious or go the other way etc.. 3 BB's 7% walk rate.. 5 SO 11% K rate,,, Wonder Wonder Wonder

Trey is worth a couple of the guys you list plus a lottery ticket from short season like Mears. No way they put Patino, Naylor, Weathers or Campusano in a deal for him. Lauer, Miller and Mears for Mancini.
Naylor ≥ Mancini by 2021 on both sides of ball.

Dickerson was listed about #25 on both CBS and MLBTR. MLBTR has SD signing him for 2/15, an AAV of $7.5M. Akiyama is listed #45 on MLBTR and getting 2/6 from AZ.
So if SD got both for $10-11M per year, I think that would help a lot.

Just saw that .... agree unless the Padres see some real flaw in Akiyama. But on the surface given the need for LHH OF and one being a CF a small price to pay for the upgrade potential.
The ripple effect of allowing Cordero and Trammell more minor league time also has value plus those signings could free up (make easier) trading any of the incumbents OF options for further upgrades or young quality prospects to build the next wave while saving payroll.

I like it. I agree with everything you just said. Now let's get it done.
As far as Dickerson is concerned, I don't know why he is not valued more highly. You would think a guy who averages .286/.328 with 25 HR per year would get more love. Maybe it is lack of big time power? He seemed to have been highly sought-after last year.

How about this then: I bet that both Patino and Campusano will each produce more WAR individually before they come up for free agency than Mancini will before he hits free agency.
