Final 2025 series: Arizona Diamondbacks at San Diego Padres: Sept 26-28
Quote from brent wolff on September 27, 2025, 10:05 pmAnyone know what the Cubs rotation will be? Their best pitcher, in fact the best pitcher in MLB since the all-star break, probably NL rookie of the year, Cade Horton, broke his rib sneezing and will not be in their rotation. That is the weirdest injury since our own Jake Peavy broke a rib in the post game celebration of clinching a division title back in 2005.
The Cubs will most likely go with Matthew Boyd and Shota Imanaga in Games 1 & 2. If Game 3 is necessary, probably be Jamison Taillon.
Pads will likely roll with Pivetta, followed by King (especially since he was limited to 50 pitches Saturday night) and Darvish if necessary for Game 3.
Does everyone agree or have another idea? Go Pads, beat the Cubbies!

Quote from ultratvfan on September 28, 2025, 3:19 pmThe Padres sweep the Dbacks, who have been very tough all season long. That was sweet.
The 2025 regular season has come to an end and they finish the season with 90 wins.
The Mets are out and the Reds are in and are heading to L.A.
The Padres are heading to the windy city.
GO PADRES!

Quote from fenn68 on September 28, 2025, 3:36 pmFor us long time fans watching endless seasons of losing, the 2024-2025 became
- the first time for back to back 90 win seasons
- the second time for back to back playoffs (2006 - 2007)
we all should really relish this period.
Despite various question marks over the season on Shildt's moves ... his two years in SD yield an outstanding 183-136 record ... he is doing something right! Same should be said about Preller ... every move not loved but the end result was the playoffs.

Quote from BoosterSD on September 28, 2025, 7:43 pmFenn, I agree. We are in a new ERA of Padre baseball. Its fun to start each season with the thoughts of how deep we can go in the playoffs versus who will we trade away at the deadline.
God bless the soul of Seidler and his desire, drive, and money that has finally brought respectability to SD baseball.
