I read The Athletic to keep up with my favorite teams. Here's a guest pass so you can check it out for 30 days for free:
https://theathletic.com/gp/3cg4r65em2Try that. I think I can send out 4 more if anyone else wants one.

Quote from MrPadre19 on April 6, 2021, 5:36 amWell?
So they knew he had a left shoulder issue before they signed him to the 14 year deal....not sure they expected this though.
If he needs labrum surgery he would be out at least till September.
If it's questionable....do you do it now?
Get it out of the way?
Is Kim our starting SS meanwhile or do we call up Abrams?

I think I'd rather give Abrams a shot and keep the flexibility Kim provides.

Quote from fenn68 on April 6, 2021, 7:08 amIt looks as though the discussion will be about trying to get away with nursing the injury for the rest of the season and then surgery in the offseason or just losing the season with surgery now. Have to leave this a bit to the medical folks as to whether playing may make the injury worse then factor in how productive he may be playing with the injury.
Tatis will be here long term ... have to consider what is best for the long term view.
======
Kim - Cronenworth - Mateo - Marcano - Profar all will be the middle INF rotation .. that is serviceable . When Nola returns he can provide the emergency back-up 2B.

Quote from MrPadre19 on April 6, 2021, 7:17 amConsidering Abrams Spring...the fact that he isn't playing anywhere at this time,I'd like him to take the roster spot at least until the minor league season starts.
If,of course,Tatis goes on the DL.
Maybe get him a start or two per week.....I know that's a bold move but it's not like AJ hasn't been making these types of
moves the last couple years.
I know one thing...we don't want to fall 6-8 games behind the Duds by the AS break.
Not saying Abrams will prevent that...just that we need to do what's best for winning "now" no matter what that is.

Hard no on Abrams now.

Quote from WindsorUK on April 6, 2021, 7:37 amSubluxation in and of itself does not have to be a long term issue. Strengthening the shoulder area( deltoid, rotator cuff, lats, traps, etc.) could have him back in a short while( certainly before the break)
Now if it's a labrum tear, he's done for 2021.
It's a bit shocking that he's had this issue since the minors. Other than this spring, have we heard of it before?

Agree. There's a 40-man issue with Abrams (& Gore) that once they're on roster, they're not moving off roster, which in turn is going to force some other depth piece off 40-man even if they are in the minors.
