That would be very interesting. I think it is always very difficult for ex-great players to be a good manager, because they really didn't have the struggle experiences that the vast majority of players do, so they don't really know the mindset of the average player. It just seems that the great players had a different work ethic and were very self-motivated etc., so it is harder for them to encourage average players to do that in my opinion. That is why so many great managers were marginal players. They had to grind so much to just make the big leagues, they relate much better to the struggles of the average players.
These days they don't even have to spend a few years in the Minors to prove their worth.

That is very interesting. I do like him on MLB Central and as the USA World Baseball Manager. I'd be surprised for DeRo to want the grinder of season long managerial duties.

I listen to 97.3 The Fan mostly on the Audacy App....at least during the baseball season.
But local Sports here is South Georgia is mostly Jaguars,Gators,Seminoles,Bulldogs and Braves

Typical.....Brew Crew score more in the 1ST INNING against the Cubs than we do in 3 games!
And Hoerner boots one and Swanson doesn't have enough range to snare a grounder in the hole.

I think we can agree that the Cubs at Wrigley were a really bad match up for our guys, besides the result of losing Laureano in the last week of the season was way worse than what most of us we thought.

Pretty sure the Cubs manager and their local media will be saying THIS IS ONLY ONE LOSS and on the road ... sweep them at home and win one in MILW and we are in.

The loss of Laureano was a killer….Cubs made moves all series to bring in lefties.
Also,no games at Petco really hurt.
We need home games in the playoffs next year

And unfortunately are two super star RHH (Machado and Tatis) could not cover the loss of Laureano.

We had another RH bat on the bench that didn't get used ... I saw a few opportunities for Campusano to get an AB vs LHP ... sigh ...

Two division series start off lopsided with blowout wins (at home) with MILW over CUBS and TOR over NYY.
As of this writing PHIL at home is up 3-0 on LAD in the 4th.
