Ha Song Kim was waived??? And we couldn't make a deal to get him back? Ugh.....

It was a waiver claim, and ATL took on the balance of his salary. Wasnt a trade, and we didnt have the salary room to take on his dollars. SS really isnt our issue at the time.

I bet you dollars to doughnuts the Rays tried to trade him before waiving him.

And I'm going to disagree that SS isn't an issue for us.

Obviously the team is in total collapse mode right now and could use a spark somewhere, somehow.

Would have been fun to see him in Padre brown again.

$16MM player option for 2026 … that Kim likely will exercise after a poor 2025 is why only ATL claimed him and no one would trade for him. No idea ATL’s thinking.

Wasn't he just a throw in in the Soto deal???

I cant say that I saw 30 HRs for Grisham in a season, but more than his career high of 17? Yes.

AL East ballparks are generally shorter fences than those of the NL West. NYY Stadium is considered a very good park for LHH pull hitters. A good combo for someone like Grisham.

Grisham has actually been much better on the road. He's struggling at Yankee stadium. I haven't watched many Yankees games this year, but I have to think having Aaron Judge hitting behind him is a big part of it.

Kershaw set to retire after season.

In other Royals pitching news, Quatraro said that Ryan Bergert is dealing with a mild flexor strain, and is expected to be fully healthy by Spring Training.  Bergert was placed on the 15-day IL earlier this week with an ominous diagnosis of forearm tightness and he already has a Tommy John surgery in his history, so it counts as good news that his MRI revealed a relatively less-serious issue.

Wonder if the Padres had some level of worry about Bergert's long term ability to stay healthy and that factored into him being traded?

Sure hope AJ didn't hide another medical report🙄
