One of the best players to ever play the game is getting really close to the magical number of 700 HRs for a career and only three players in history are in the 700 club

Albert Pujols is simply amazing....he has 697 HRs, he just passed Alex Rodriquez at 696 for fourth place all time,  with 21 games left for the Cardinals not counting post season.....the three players in front of him are Barry Bonds (762) Hank Aaron (755) and Babe Ruth  (714)

Pujols has been an amazing ambassador for the game and is a sure fire first ballot HOF...the only question is what percentage of votes will he get.....I'm saying better that 98.5 % which would put him in the top 6 of all time.

I for one am hoping he gets to 700 if not more....the man is nothing but class in my opinion

Pulling for him to get to 700. He should get 100%, but there are a lot of dumb people with votes, so we'll see. I'm surprised there hasn't been more of a farewell tour for him.

The Class A regular seasons ended on Sunday. Double-A has one more week of regular season games while Triple-A has a week and a half of remaining games.

Brandon Pfaadt, RHP, D-Backs: Pitching in Reno has proven impossible for nearly everyone. The Aces’ team ERA this year is 5.15. Pfaadt’s starts for Reno are at home, in Las Vegas (5.43 opponents ERA), Salt Lake (5.02 opponents ERA), Sacramento (5.08 opponents ERA) and Albuquerque (5.69 opponents ERA). But Pfaadt has somehow managed to succeed in extremely trying conditions. Pfaadt held Salt Lake to two runs in eight innings on Sunday, which lowered his ERA for Reno to 2.52. Pfaadt is the first Reno starter to make eight or more starts with a sub-3.00 ERA since the late Tyler Skaggs posted a 2.91 ERA in nine starts in 2012.

Framber Valdez with his 24th consecutive quality start.

Pretty impressive.

Another legend who changed the game......gone.

RIP Maury. Played a very exciting brand of baseball.

Listening to the Yankees highlights....their play by play guy sounds horrible.

I'm not a big fan of Orsillo but he beats that dude by a mile.

ATL SP Strider placed on 15 IL (oblique strain) that takes him off at least the WC round

Health is one thing we have going for us if we hang on and make the playoffs. Pomeranz is the only guy that if healthy would be on the roster. Obviously the Tatis suspension offsets some of that, but we've got almost everyone who is eligible available.

The Braves may not have Albies and Strider for the start of the postseason. Soroka never made it back and Yates is back on the IL again.

The Mariners have Rodriguez and Suarez dealing with injuries. The Rays just announced that Brandon Lowe and Shane Baz are done for the season. Gonsolin and Treinen aren't progressing as hoped for the Dodgers who already lost Buehler for the year. We're in better shape health wise than most of the teams left in the race.
