2023 Season

Windsor, do you think that Bo Mel has to go?

I'm just not sure he's making the day to day decisions.

If he is, then yes, he's made a number of terrible decisions throughout the past seasons ( pitcher usage, lineups, in game calls, extreme lack of situational awareness, etc.)

I just have a hard time believing a 3 time MLB Manager of the year could have gotten that bad( looks a great deal like Green and Tingler before)

I want to see a new GM who let's his Manager decide what happens daily on the field. Then, if we see the same results, then 100%, can him.

There’s definitely been consistency from one manager to the next in terms of the team underachieving.

While I would love nothing more than to sweep the dodgers and/or win the Division I'm not going to set those expectations and then be disappointed if it doesn't happen.

Last year showed the Division isn't the end all...making the Playoffs is all that matters.

I'm looking at the Cubs,D-Backs and Marlins and Brewers/Reds myself.

That being said....BEAT LA!

I don’t think that it’s realistic to expect us to sweep the Dodgers.  We need to maintain a healthy respect for all of our opponents and never again pull that crying meme s***.  I’m hoping we take 2/4.

And like you wrote, it’s about making the playoffs - forget winning the division, now that we’re 9 back.

BTW, I’ve heard from a number of analysts that the one team no one wants to face in the playoffs is us!!  It’s flattering but I prefer that we take an underdog mentality to the rest of the season, especially considering we seem to play better against teams with a good record than we do against teams that we “should” beat.

We still have a good number of games left with some of the teams we're competing with for a wildcard spot. We've got 7 with the Diamondbacks, 7 with the Giants and 3 with each of the Marlins, Brewers and Phillies.

I agree the division is more of a longshot. There are 7 left against the Dodgers too though. A good showing could at least put some pressure on them.

So Joe will miss about 4 starts “if” everything goes well.

We really need Wacha back and healthy the rest of the way and for Hill to just give us a chance in his starts replacing Joe.Maybe Martinez makes one of those starts if the BP is up to it again.

Wondering how different this season would have been if we had traded for Sean Murphy and signed Jorge Soler for DH instead of Cruz/Carpenter.
