Salvy Perez for Campusano +Pomz + Crismatt

Who says No?

Even as we complain about Soto's production ...

At his pathetic 9 game pace he would hit 36 HRs 90 RBIs and 106 Runs... in 2023...

To be clear ... I draw no conclusions or make any projections after only 9 games out of 162 game slate ... but I do present the numbers that support why the Padres are 5-4 and have a less than expected start to the season.

Offense: wRC+ at 98 ... slightly below average and 16th in MLB

dWAR: -2.4 and 22nd in MLB

SP: ERA 4.25 and 15th in MLB

RP: ERA 4.78 and 21st in MLB

Can't wait for Tatis to return to support the offense and Machado / Soto get really going ... plus the return of Musgrove and up to speed Darvish will help the SP and Suarez' return should set up the pen better to help the rest of the RP.

The Padres placed outfielder David Dahl on the 10-day injured list due to a right quad strain, with a retroactive placement date of April 7.  Brandon Dixon was called up from Triple-A in the corresponding move.

Glad Dixon came up..he is on a 🔥 streak atm..

I would have no problem with trading the three you mentioned Henry but Pomeranz is damaged goods and given his injury history he may never throw more than 10 innings this year along with his 10 million dollar contract, Crismatt is likely almost done with his 88 mph fastball that is like a bp fastball and Campusano is not a good catcher and his hitting is still suspect and Salas is already as good if not better

If the royals were willing to make that trade I would do that in a heartbeat but they wouldn’t want our less than average players

Wearing the KC hat … they just signed Perez in 2022 to a four year big money deal, so really don’t expect they are interested in trading him unless it is four a Soto type deal.

Merrill, Snelling, and Campusano get the discussion started.

Interesting to see Soto's splits as a 2 hitter and, well, any other( 3 or 4) so far this year.

I'm sure most of his production is NOT as a 2 hitter?

Soto with a solid game at the dish....from the 3 hole. In just this miniscule sample size it appears his approach is different from 2 to 3. I'm happy to leave him there.
