2019 MLB DRAFT

I'm still on the Abrams bandwagon.
Want the best hitter available "however" if it's not a huge difference between 2-3 options take the athlete.
Take the guy who can play up the middle.
While I am not a proponent of drafting for position in the early rounds I do prefer staying away from 1b/DH types and Corner OF
unless the player is just head and shoulders better than alternatives.
Also,with the Farm system we have I have no issues taking a High Schooler(Abrams or Greene)

It starts at 4pm and most likely The Padres pick will be around 4:45.
Also they are saying Abrams is falling and now, it looks like it might be Nick Lodolo if, Greene and Bleday are gone.

What would make Abrams fall this late in the process (signing issue / contract demands)? Don't think his skills diminished that much over the weekend. Maybe it just looks as though he is falling when in reality others are rising ... maybe due to skills but maybe because they can be had at (or below) slot freeing up money for over slot signings for later picks.
Lodolo appears to be the best pitcher in the draft ... so there is that and the Padres could always use another college LHSP 🙂

Jim Bowden and Jim Duquette both were saying that Lodolo reminds them of Kershaw and MadBum.
