Really prefer Libertore due to floor/ceiling combo. But if Singer or Stewart are there? What do you think?

Hate this pick. Is it for under slot reasons? Only justification I can see.

Ugh!
I admit I know nothing about real scouting.....but of all the HS pitchers we were rumored to be taking this was my least favorite.
He just does not strike me as having a shot at being a #1.
IMO his ceiling is a solid #3.......which would be great.....but not when every other HS arm was still available.

He has to be a underslot guy. When they got the Twins comp pick it gave them more room to get a guy that may fall. Like a Hankins. I doubt Murray falls to the Padres at 38.

I hope there’s a solid reason they took him over Stewart and Liberatore.

I would have pick Liberatore. He a high floor and a still a high ceiling player.

7. San Diego Padres. Ryan Weathers, LHP. Padres decide Weathers is the best prep LHP in the class, choose him over Liberatore. Weathers has pedigree, dominating stuff and success. Very good player, I like Liberatore more by just a tick.
