It would be funny/strange to see him drafted by the Padres. I have also called a ton of games with Gorman as well. Both kids that I have seen grow up over the years. I think I started calling games for their teams when they were 10 or 11 years old.
What are your impressions on Liberatore and Gorman, Booster?
I probably have not seen them since they were about 16, since I have not worked games on a regular basis since 2016. IIRC, they were both on the same travel club team that were loaded with good players. They were well coached, even though the coach was kind of a jerk. I dont remember them being the top players on the team, which IMO is good because they had to learn how to play fundamentally well, before growing into their bodies. I seem to recall Gorman playing all around the IF, mainly at SS. Liberatore was P, 1B, and OF, but mainly 1B and P. Both seemed to have good approaches at the plate and were good kids, even though I wasnt the biggest fan of the coach. So on a personal level I would love to see one of these two drafted by SD, however whoever is the best player for SD is fine by me.

Quote from sportwarrior on May 31, 2018, 1:52 pmAfter (finally) doing some homework on this year's draft class, I'd like to proclaim that I'd be A-OK with Matt Liberatore or Carter Stewart with the 7th pick. Nolan Gorman would be fine, as well.
That is all.

Quote from MrPadre19 on June 1, 2018, 12:55 pmYes offense!
However....you gotta get an impact player of "any kind" in the top 10.
So take whoever they feel will be a major league starter/star with the first pick.
Then "I" would prefer we concentrate on bats after that.

I think next year's gonna be our last top 10 pick, but we should be fine with that!

Quote from sportwarrior on June 1, 2018, 3:58 pm8th, but if you look at the quality of teams vying for a top 10 pick there really are 6 teams who should be locks. Texas, Minnesota, and Toronto all have the ability to make enough noise to stay ahead of us in winning percentage and I'm not sure anyone in the NL outside of the dumb Mets has as much ability to bottom out as us, the Reds, and the Marlins.
We'll see, though. We're coming off a 15-13 month in which we had a really unstable rotation. A couple call ups and DL returns by midseason and we could be looking at another over achieving team.
