Trent Grisham

I hate to say I told you so; but um I think I told all you so, this offseason. You all were riding high on the 3 HRs in the NYM series, and we cant trade Grisham and his GG defense. And I said that you all would be right back to complaining about his stick in 2023. And here we are, griping over Grisham again.
I suggested multiple times, trade Grisham and/or Kim and get Arraez from MIN. My follow up move for CF was Michael A Taylor, who we just watched in MIN. Who by the way is hitting .231 with 5 HRs and 14 RBIs along with 6 SB. Better in every category over Grisham, and by the way, is also a GG CFer!
Oh by the way, how is Arraez doing in MIA???....leading the f@*king league in hitting and OBP at .389 and .444. Sure could use that bat right about now, and for his defense, doesnt matter, our defense isnt winning us any games right now anyway.

Love Arraez but realistically the Padres had nothing that appealed to MINN who got a quality SP in Lopez (for 2 years) and a couple of MIA's prospects (one #5). Padres were not trading Darvish or Musgrove and really doubt MINN thought much of getting one year of Snell ... prospects in this case have zero value to MINN who plan (and are) contending and wanted an established SP.
Taylor is clearly an upgrade from Grisham but still a sub-.700 OPS guy ... although would have tried to sign him and don't really know if the Padres were in on him. He got a pretty good contract from a contender in MINN at $4.5MM ... which seems about right for a 32 year old veteran with his stats for a defensive 1st CF. FA after the season so Padres get another shot if they desire.

Hindsight is 20-20, and I can't fathom a situation where we'd ever have pursued this at the time... but Cody Bellinger is looking pretty solid so far this year.

I thought he was gonna rebound this year.
Told several dodger fans (on Twitter) he would be better than any dodger outfielder not named Betts.
