The Padres head home to begin a 10-game homestand and the final stretch before the All-Star break. The homestand begins with the Bochy's boys, a 4-game set with the Dbacks and ending with the Phillies. They are fortunate to miss the Rangers two best pitchers Eovaldi(1.75 ERA) and deGrom(2.13 ERA).

I have no idea who is going to pitch on Sunday. Pivetta was originally schedule to pitch on Sunday. But, that has changed since he and Cease pitched on the Wednesday DH. If Schildt sends him out on 4 days rest I would be surprised.

The Padres offense needs to start producing more and stop stranding them. 13 LOB on Sunday is unacceptable. They are 32-37 since opening the season 14-3. They are 25-14 at home and have gone 14-14 since opening the season at home 11-0.

Top NL West games: Dodgers(56-32) host Astros(52-34), Giants(47-41) at A's(36-53), Dbacks(43-44) host Royals(41-47)
It's about time the Dodgers play a tough team. Maybe the Padres can gain some ground on them this weekend.

GO PADRES!

Some speculation that Darvish returns for the Sunday start.

Also, Marinaccio was optioned ... he was the 27th man for the DH.

Having Darvish back would be great.

Padres win it on a walk off single in the 9th by Cronenworth.

Arraez should have bunted with runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs instead of trying to swing for hit.

Let's take game 2.

GO PADRES!

More so, once Bogaerts went down and they replaced him with Johnson with one strike, he should have bunted. Bases loaded, fast runner on 3rd, and 1 out, and MiL hitter at the plate.....bunt!

God forbid we play situational baseball🙄

So much for winning on the fringes.

We're rather dysfunctional offensively.

What would it take to ensure Higgy remains in San Diego when Texas leaves?

The Astros killed the Dodgers 18-1. The Padres gained game on the Dodgers and are now 8 games back.

Plus carries a somewhat large contract for 2026 as back-up catcher.
