Tampa Bay Rays at San Diego Padres: April 25-17

Looks like it's Hoeing going on the 60 day.  A little surprising because the injury updates indicated he was progressing well - maybe an unanticipated setback.  Also, may want to give him more time to build up as a SP with a full rehab under his belt.  I hope it works - has some promise as a SP.

Since Hoeing is already just over 30 days on the IL, I guess they are just adding 30ish days ... so maybe not much more than they were seeing to get him ready.

Why is Travis Jankowski not a Padre? I realize he's not a big bat but he plays outstanding D in all 3 OF spots and he's FAST. Always has been.

Yet he's always available( 3 teams just this year!) Go figure.

Don't understand hitting Maldonado in front of Tatis. Yes, I realize he's our worst hitter( not named Gurriel or Heyward) but the fact he's SO slow. Should he get on, just clogs the basepaths.

My early take on Vasquez, is that he gets rattled too easily. He looked sharp through the first 7 baters, then a misplaced pitch goes for an HR, then....well.....just lost it.

Randy should have gotten out of the 5th. First, he got hosed on a bad call that was clearly a strike. Then gets hosed by Maldonaldo not catching a catchable pitch.

Shame.

Those 2 runs would have never scored if the umpire did not blow a major call in the 5th. What was clearly a strike was called a ball. The umpire needs glasses.

The Padres suffer their first sweep of the season, lost 4 in a row, lost 8 of their last 11 games and drop to third place.

Vasquez pitched a good game and got hosed by a blind umpire's blown call. Suarez allowed his first hit of the season. Great play by Tatis to get the runner out at home.

IMO, the loss is on the lack of offense. Hopefully, Arraez will be back for the series.

Let's hope the Pads can beat the tough Giants.

GO PADRES!

The thing is that the bums have had stetches in previous seasons were they have 4 or 5 guys on the IL, and still the replacement players contribute one way or the other, our replacement guys look lost af, no wonder it took 8 years to Ornelas to get up there, the guy looks outmatched in every at bat, IMHO.

Iglesias's defense today show's how much Cronenworth's defense is missed and how valuable he is to the team. He would have made those plays today that Iglesias didn't make.
