Song was not the only player called up on Tuesday. Matsui was also called up and Hart was optioned to Triple-A El Paso.

GO PADRES!

Let's go Pads, knock the Cards down to their level.  They have been playing over their heads so far.  I like the pitching matchups for this series.  At worst, hoping for a series win, 3-1.  Historically, the Cards don't play very well in SD.

I'm really looking forward to watching Liberatore pitch tonight. He was such a good kid, I have called games for his travel club team here in the Valley since he was 10 years old. I want him to pitch well, just not that well!

Gane 1 Lineup

1. Merrill CF

2. Andujar DH

3. Machado 3B

4. Tatis 2B

5. Bogaerts SS

6. Laureano LF

7. France 1B

8. Castellanos RF

9. Duran C

King P

Campusano placed on 10-day IL. Duran contract selected in corresponding move.

Musgrove transferred to 60-day IL to make room for Doran on the 40-man roster.

Always fun to see a long time minor league get the call. Congratulations to Duran. Sounds like Campy might have been able to get it out, but they didn't want to push it with Fermin also a little banged up.

The Padres offense could not get it done. They drop to one game behind the Dodgers, who were off today.

An outstanding King performance wasted.

Need to win tomorrow.

GO PADRES!

Game 2 Lineup

1. Merrill CF

2. Bogaerts SS

3. Machado 3B

4. Sheets 1B

5. Tatis RF

6. Andujar DH

7. Laureano LF

8. Fermin C

9. Song 2B

Canning P

Padres drop to two games back.

Tatis botched a play that scored 4 cardinal runs. It didn't matter because the Padres couldn't score even when they had a bases loaded opportunity with one out.

Canning was solid and outstanding through 4 innings and collapsed on the fifth for some unknown reason.

Need to take the next two games.

GO PADRES!

What happened on the Tatis blunder?

I've been in the air the past 2 days, haven't been ableto see it.

Edit: just saw it. Brutal. I'm super down on the guy right now. Any chance we put him on the IL, get him some rehab games at Elsinore? Tell him to go up there and just swing for the fences? Get his launch angle back up? Drastic times call for drastic measures.
