10-6
Tuesday, April 14 - 6:40pm
RHP Bryan Woo(0-1, 1.50 ERA, 17 K, .161 BAA) vs RHP Michael King(1-1, 3.24 ERA, 15 K, .207 BAA)Wednesday, April 15 - 6:40pm
RHP Emerson Hancock(2-1, 2.04 ERA, 19 K, .172 BAA) vs RHP Randy Vásquez(1-0, 1.02 ERA, 19 K, .238 BAA)Thursday, April 16 - 5:40pm
RHP Luis Castillo(0-0, 6.92 ERA, 14 K, .330 BAA) vs RHP Walker Buehler(0-1, 4.97 ERA, 11K, .234 BAA)The Padres are riding high after sweeping the Rockies, a 5-game winning streak, winning 8 of the last 9 games, winning 9 of the last 11 games and moving to one game behind the first place Dodgers.
They have always had a tough time playing the Mariners, who just swept the Astros and coming into this series with a 4-game win streak. The Padres went 1-5 against the Mariners last season and have not won a series over the Mariners since. 2021 when they swept them at Petco.
They will face tough pitching. But they have proved they can overcome it, like they did to the Rockies top pitchers scoring 28 runs and hitting 6 home runs. The Padres will have two of their top pitchers in this series and a strong BP as well.
Tatis, Campy and France's bats have come alive this weekend. Let's hope they continue hitting. The Mariners have top hitters Donovan, Raley, and Dumper Raleigh, despite having a below .200 average is tied with Raley for the most RBI in their club with 10.
NL West Matchups
Dodgers(12-4) host Mets(7-10)
Diamondbacks(9-8) at Orioles(9-7)
Rockies(6-10) at Astros(6-11)
Giants(6-10) at Reds(9-7)I believe they will win this series and again a sweep will be sweet.
GO PADRES!

Quote from Randy Manese on April 13, 2026, 7:35 pmSeattle has had the Padres number recently but despite their 4 game sweep of the last place Astros, they do not have a winning record on the road (7-4 home, 1-5 road). Padres appear to be in a good place with their line-up despite the big 3 - Tatis, Merrill and Machado - not showing numbers that reflect how hard they've hit the ball. Seems like we are now set with Laureano at the top of the line-up and somewhat of a mix and match after the top 4 depending upon the pitcher/pitching. If the bench keeps coming through more good things will happen with this line-up that will help cover up whatever inadequacies we have in our SP.
I'll be at the game on Wednesday and hope we are still on our win streak when my wife and I attend. GO PADRES!!!

Pitching was outstanding and Miller is unbeatable.
Tomorrow will be another great pitching matchup.

Quote from Randy Manese on April 15, 2026, 8:36 amDespite his success, I always felt uneasy when Suarez was brought in to close out a game. With Miller - lights out! Miller is just incredible even though we know the can't keep up a 70+ K rate. Love to see him in the game but don't want to overuse him - keep him healthy and around for a long long time!

Winning Cy Youngs and throwing 200+ innings

Quote from fenn68 on April 15, 2026, 8:24 pmFermin hit in the mask (again) on a foul tip ... left the game. IF this becomes a concussion protocol IL (7 days?) Padres have no other catcher on the 40 man.
Guessing they add Rodulfo Duran off the EP roster ... maybe Hoeing to the 60 day IL.
Duran is a 28 year old veteran MiLer so could be a placeholder for the 7 days.

Quote from ultratvfan on April 15, 2026, 9:53 pmPadres win 7-6!
Vasquez was not on his game tonight. But, the Padres came back from a 6-0 deficit scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the 9th on a Merrill walk-off 2-run double to win their 7th game in a row.
Time to get the brooms!

Quote from Jeremy Hill on April 15, 2026, 9:56 pmWow!!! Many years ago I was at a Padres vs Mariners game with some family and friends. The Padres were down and we left early only to hear Rondell White hit a walk off grandslam on the radio when we got to the car. We still talk about it to this day. Glad I turned this one back on to catch the ending. What a comeback.

Report is that NO concussion but the Padres will be careful on Fermin's return given the multiple hits to the head recently.
Would expect Campusano to get the next few starts and go day by day on evaluating Fermin. (side: France is the emergency catcher).
