The Padres begin their final road trip of the season heading to New York to battle the Mets, who have lost 8 of their last 10 games and beat the Rangers to snap their 8 game losing streak. Better the Rangers than the Padres.

Last July, the Padres swept the Mets at Petco and they will be looking for payback and will be battling to keep their playoff spot with the Diamondbacks 1.5 games back and the Reds and  Giants only 2 games behind. Fortunately, the Padres will have their best pitchers in this series. Following the Mets, they head to Chicago to play the White Sox, the second worst team.

The Padres offense has been hot the last couple of games and Merrill's bat seems to be heating up. He has hit 3 for 9, 2 HR and 4 RBI in the last two games.

While the Padres are playing the Mets, the Dodgers will host the Phillies. The Dodgers will not have Kershaw and Glasnow in this series.

Dodgers lose to the Phillies. Padres gain 1/2 game on day off. Now 2 games back.

Why is Machado wearing 21, with no name on the back? And other guys with 21 patches on their chest?

Oh.......Clemente thing?

This is so unlike King. This is his worst outing of the season. Prior to this start he had given up no more than 3 runs and did that only 3 times in 13 starts.

I guess, as a dying team, there is nothing like facing the Padres to get into a groove again. 🤦

The Dodgers lost to the Phillies. Padres lose no ground and remain 2 games back

Man, just think, if this group had played the 2nd half like last years team did( and most Schildt teams do) we'd be, what, 4 or 5 games clear of the Duds in 1st? What an absolutely golden opportunity to beat those cap evading, spendaholics from the north. Shame they're pissing it away.

And looking at our remaining schedule, other than the games against the southside Stinkers, we'll struggle to go .500 the rest of the way( Brewers are obviously pretty good, and both D Backs and Mets are both hunting for playoff spots)

Right now, looks we'll have to beat the Cubs(in Chicago), Phillies in Philly, and possibly Duds in LA....given our road record, and record against good teams, I hope you guys have more than I do. Without a healthy Darvish, King, and Musgrove, it's going to be a HUGE task.

I am not watching the game, just following on game day, did Arraez just got thrown out at 2nd before Díaz scored? If so, that would be a bonehead play on him, Wouldn't?
