San Diego Padres @ Colorado Rockies: Aug 16-18

Padres win! 2 games back the Dodgers and 1 game ahead of the Dbacks.
Cease was outstanding through 5 innings and the BP was solid. The bats came alive with 8 runs on 15 hits.

Musgrove on the mound tomorrow. Let's take the series.

GO PADRES!

Cease goes 6( well, 5 and 2/3) and we still use 5 pitchers? I'm all for these horses getting a run but can you really use 5 pitchers every day?

I know there's been a lot of talk here about the shuttle between AAA and SD, but is it legitimately doable for the next 40 games?

I'm assuming the rotation gets much tighter during the playoffs, right? 3 starters and 4 or 5 others to rely on?

Dodgers won and Dbacks lost.

With one swing of the bat, Manny's HR, puts him in sole possession of 3rd in all-time HRs with 157 & 4th in RBIs with 502.  Broke ties with Nevin in HRs & Gonzo in RBIs.  Manny just needs 5 HRs to pass Gonzo for 2nd in HRs & 7 HRs he will pass one of my all-time favorites in Nate Colbert.  Let's go Manny!

Padres lost drop to 3 games behind the Dodgers and remain 1 game ahead of the Dbacks. A solid performance by Musgrove wasted. I thought that Shildt pulled him prematurely.

Bad news is that Kim was injured with a shoulder injury and how bad it is and how long he will be out is unknown.
On the upside, the Padres don't have to play the Rockies any more this season.

This!

What are opposing teams scoring on average at Coors? Whatever it is, I'd be shocked if we're anywhere near that! We just never seem to be able to score a lot of runs there.

A buddy of mine that played for the Duds, was once told by Tommy Lasorda that he was getting a day off, at Coors. He simply replied, " No way in hell". Too easy to pad your stats in that place! I wonder if our guys just get their hopes too high?
