San Diego Padres at Tampa Bay Rays: August 28-30
Quote from Jeremy Hill on August 29, 2026, 4:18 pmI don't think the Padres have ever had a reliever with better numbers that I've had less confidence with pitching in big situations than Bradgley Rodriguez. It's crazy how much worse he is in higher leverage situations.
Blowing a lead like that while also losing Rengifo to what looked like it will almost certainly be a season ending injury sucks. What a disastrous sequence.

The replays they showed weren't very conclusive.
Thankfully Taylor is ready to play👍🏽

They announced it as a right knee sprain after the game. They'll need to do more testing to know the full extent of it.

Quote from WindsorUK on August 30, 2026, 11:24 amIt's amazing how often Cronenworth looks confused on pitches that cut fully across home plate.
Either he doesn't believe they're strikes or he's mad at himself for watching really good pitches. Neither is good for long term success. Maybe why Jake's hit around .230 over the last 5 years?

Quote from fenn68 on August 30, 2026, 12:49 pmGutty move putting Rodriguez back in for the 7th inning of a tight game after yesterday's disaster. Worked and good for both Rodriguez and the team going forward ... confidence.
====================================
Tatis was clearly out of the baseline running to 1st and ... correctly called out for interfering with the fielders ability to catch the throw.
Surprise both Tatis and Stammen acted so vehemently ... was not that outrageous.

Quote from WindsorUK on August 30, 2026, 1:03 pmGotta admit, I like seeing the anger. Obviously in the wrong but shows me he's wants it.
Pads will need more of that if they're to hold off the D-Backs and the Cards.
