The  Padres win.

Darvish pitched better allowing only 2 runs and Suarez earns his 32nd save.

Nando hits a 3-run shot and Manny moves ahead of Nate Colbert to become the all time HR leader in franchise history.

The Mets and Dodgers lost. The Braves and Dbacks won. The Padres move up to 4.5 games back of the Dodgers and pad their lead in the wild card race.

Let's take game 2 for the two game sweep. King on the mound.

GO PADRES!

Nice outing by Yu, Imanaga and Yamamoto faced each other in the Cubs-bums game, Is It the first time 3 japanese pitchers start a game on MLB in the same day? Anybody?

NANDO! 3-run shot!

This HR was Nando's 121st career homer, tying him for 9th place on the all-time Padres HR list, with Ken Caminiti, so Nando's next HR will put him in sole possession of 9th and drop Cammy to 10th.  Go Pads!

Report out that the Padres have called up CF Lockridge and optioned Campusano.

Also, recalled Cosgrove … no offsetting pitching move announced but since Cosgrove was only optioned a week ago … I guess it has to be an IL for someone.

Cosgrove being a LHRP … likely one of Scott, Peralta, Morejon, or Matsui, I guess.

Perez is going on the paternity list.

I guess we will start seeing more of Diaz behind the plate. Campy has had a rough later part of the season so makes sense now that Diaz should be up to speed on the pitching staff.

Lockridge should give that extra pinch running / defensive option late in games.

Perez is going on the paternity list.

He was supposed to pitch on Friday. If he is not back by then, then I assume Cease will be moved up a day to open the series against the Giants with Musgrove following and then Perez on Sunday. We will see.

Padres lost dropping to a 2nd place tie with the Dbacks and only 1 game ahead of the Mets. Cubs/Dodgers still playing and in a 7-7- tie as of this writing.

The Padres lost 3 of the last 4 games. They need to string together a bunch of wins.

Nando hits his 16th HR of the season and is now is sole 9th in HR in franchise history moving past Caminiti and stole a HR away from Arozarena.

Arraez, who went 1 for 4, has n struck out in 124 plate appearances. Tony Gwynn holds the Padres record with 170.

I know it has been 4 years now, but still, sometimes I can't believe we traded Muñoz for a catcher who hit 9 HR in parts of 4 seasons and two relievers who couldn't get anybody out, and on top we gave Luis Torrens and Ty France who had a couple of decent seasons by the way, :(.

Dodgers won. Padres drop to 5.5 games back.
