The Padres are coming into this series 12 games behind the Dodgers and one game above .500. This will be the last time these two teams until the end of the season.

They will face both Ohtani and Yamamato in this series. They beat Sasaki in the last meeting. The Padres just might win one game. The one with King pitching. Canning vs Yamamoto is a lopsided matchup. We can only hope the Pads offense come alive and the pitching steps it up.

This series could get ugly.

NL West Matchups
Diamondbacks(43-43) host Brewers(53-31)
Giants(36-50) at Rockies (34-53)

Keep The Faith!
GO PADRES!

I don't how they can sweep the Braves, but can't do anything against the Cubs and Dodgers. We can only hope they do better against the Dodgers this time around.

It all about when you play them and after a very good start to the season injuries hurt ATL resulting in June (when the Padres played them):

LAST in MLB with a .599 OPS

10th in MLB ERA

The early season Braves were not the June Braves (sounds like the Padres).

Cubs and Dodgers have been hot and can hit ... not helpful given the Padres pitching.

Get Vasquez out before he blows this game.

That did not work well ... Peralta is as bad as I have seen giving up hard hit after hard hit.

Looks as though blowing the game tonight needed a team effort!

I don't even know what to say about this team anymore.

Not sure how Stammen and Preller survive the month, with this incredibly dysfunctional pitching staff they built.

Apparently yesterday Vasquez was going into the imaging room for a scan on his ankle (hit by a batted ball in the game) and fainted. Taken to the ER for evaluation. No results released yet.

Given the number of games between now and the All-Star break coupled with the short starts stressing the pen ... could see an IL stint for Vasquez allowing them to add an arm. I think Waldron may be near to coming off the IL and Jacobs is the normal yo-yo RP.
