Padres vs. Rockies Game Tread

I do believe that there is still time for Mitchell to come around. Lyles, hopefully he has found something, and then as the kids come up, we can have additional pieces to trade, Lyles etc.
Although I think Lyles is just under contract for this year.
Padres have a club option on Lyles for 2019 at $3.5MM.
Great number if he continues to perform in 2018. Also, a great number if he continues to perform and a contending team is interested at the trade deadline (getting control for 2019 at a low risk price adds to the potential return).
Since the Padres are more likely to move Ross at the trade deadline and not all that sure that they would then have enough quality ready to fill 5 SP slots ... might take a compelling return to deal Lyles (so unlikely this trade deadline). Doubt Lyles in the long term plans so Preller would be open to trade discussions.
