Grisham is figuring things out.....

You dont call up a prospect that has 45 good days to replace a ML player. Calm your jets!

Padres do have the "luxury" of still holding on to one of the three wild card slots by a pretty good margin ... enough probably to keep working with Grisham / Azocar for the near term hoping Grisham has a turnaround.

Probably somewhat of a moving target but if the Padres do fall into that slump and their wild card status starts to be at risk AND Grisham is still below the Mendoza line ... Padres cannot worry about his veteran credentials and will need to find an alternative. Maybe they add Akiyama ... maybe they gamble on Ruiz ... maybe they go full time Azocar ... maybe they make a trade ... maybe Tatis returns as a CF. All options are fair game in an effort to win.

I have a question for you all.....given the lack of offense and the below avg hitting with the exception of Machado and Hosmer....has anybody heard anything about the hitting coach for this team ?  It seems to me there is a disconnect between what is being taught or suggested and how any of it is being implemented by the players. This team has way to much talent to be struggling at the plate like this.

Just curious as to what your thoughts are

Jim aka 3 finger split 🙂

Nah the approach as a team at the plate has been a lot better (lots of walks) but the players need to hit the ball... I mean should we give credit to the hitting coach for Manny being on his way to the best year of his career and Hos off to a terrific start.. Kim's huge improvement at the plate and even Profar having numbers more in par to his best season atm... I mean a hitting coach can take a horse to water but he can't make him drink...

With that said...today's lineup is the 1st one all year with everyone in it hitting above the Mendoza line (.200) call it progress... 😆

Looking at the hitting in all of MLB … it is generally bad and that goes even for some of the “stars”. Way to early to blame 30 hitting coaches …

Given the problem finding a lead-off hitter for the Padres … seems if a player is hitting OK elsewhere then he is put in the lead-off spot he immediately stops hitting.

Looks as though Profar gets the short straw tonight. Did hear a suggestion that they should try Myers who has the speed and MAYBE the novelty of leading off gets him energized since he does seem to need something new to keep engaged.

Baring a sudden emergence of someone on the current 26 man … would expect Tatis to get the lead-off spot upon his return. He energizes the top of the order and could use the extra ABs.

Reynolds apparently is trying to convince the Padres to trade for him! HR!!!!

Why do we suck at Home?

We’re about to be only 1 game over .500 at Petco if we lose to the Pirates.

The PIRATES!

Someone send a rescue party in search of our offense.

This team right now!

2 on,no outs, 3-2 on Myers……then 3 quick outs.

Quintana should not be shutting us out….are you kidding me?

All they do is swing and miss and complain about ump strikes... we are playing a bunch of AAA guys and getting our asses kicked

Cone on BOYZ... wake the fk up!
