To take some good signs from yesterdays loss.

One, the offense bounced back, even in the 1st inning, so hopefully a good sign.

Two, they kept battling all game, yes some risky plays that didnt pan out, but they battled all game.

Three, outside of Weathers, the pitching only gave up two runs, and we scored 6, again another good sign.

Now, on the bad side, Cruz is done IMO. I know he hit a HR the other night, but the bat simply is not there. And the wheels killed us yesterday. Grishams wall banger should have cleared the bases, and Grisham should have been on 3rd, and he would have easily scored on the sac bunt. But instead, Cruz only got to 3rd, and thrown out at home on the bunt. So there is another run and who knows.

If it doesn’t clear the fence it costs us at least one base every time.

This team can’t afford that right now….just run and slow down “after” it clears the fence maybe?

They had some opportunities to steal the game. They just couldn't quite get it done. 2 walks and a bad throw from Bell load the bases and Bogaerts hits into a first pitch double play. Another poor throwing decision gives them 1st and 3rd with no outs and they only get 1. Even with Nola at the plate it's hard to understand the safety squeeze with a nearly 43 year old Cruz on 3rd. Soto caught stealing 3rd with 1 out and Bogaerts up who of course singles afterwards.

Credit to them for fighting and making a game out of it after Weathers put them in a big hole. The offense is starting to look like what we expected it to be. It just felt like they should have been able to complete the comeback.
