Clevinger to the 15 day IL … sore right tricep

Wilson recalled.

————

Ball in Gore’s court to hold that 5th SP slot.

And that is exactly why you DON'T trade your pitching away until you absolutely have to

Was just said that Clevinger wanted to pitch through it but there is just no reason too.

A luxury of having such depth.

We need him in Sept/Oct so let him sit.

Do we let Gore go 6 and then have Martinez pitch the final 3 to rest the bullpen here?

Thats what I would do.

With Clev out I think Martinez probably goes tomorrow. I would let some combination of Wilson, Garcia and Hill finish it out. They could all use some low leverage work.

Bullpen is pretty rested ... plus a big lead ... might want to save Martinez to piggyback with Snell in potentially a more critical situation.

I could a Stammen in this game's future.

As for pulling Gore to "save" his innings ... did hear Melvin imply the innings management may be more a second half strategy but now ... more interested in building length in his starters' outings. My guess is that Melvin ... in the second half ... will start inserting the 6th starter or just have some pitchers skip a start.

Tomorrows game still has TBD as starting pitcher.

So I’m guessing that will be Martinez as his last outing was the 18th when  he went 4 innings.

We should have let Crone have the bottom of the 9th.

At first I was surprised Manny was hustling with a 10-1 lead to get that double, but then, a couple of seconds later I remember what happend earlier in the season, so yeah 15 to 20 runs would have been nice

A nice sweep of the Gigantes over the weekend, a nice cap to the 7-2 road trip.

10 runs with no home runs, means a lot of hits, some walks, and many Dads on the bases all day.

Gore had a nice outing to keep the SP trend that we have going.

Onto the Beer Makers!
