Have not seen any current reports but in the past … “average” but not flashy seemed to be the comments with a “fringe arm” suited of 2B more than 3B.

Even from his early years the utility tag was on him and he could contribute in the OF and INF..

 

Maybe if they go predominate RHH tonight, it might be better defensively to keep Myers at 1B and place Dixon in LF for tonight (thats if the start him).

Or Drury 2B Wil 1B and Dixon DH

Bell is hitting .590 OPS (below now after last night).. and is in a 1 for 20 slump.. let Dixon get a shot..*he is the hottest hitter in organized Pro Ball (over 200 AB of FUEGO).. why not let him be a "lighting rod" in a meaningful situation.. Not like anyone else in our lineup had any success vs Urias last time we faced him.. nothing like an ex-Dodger coming to San Diego and giving them a little "payback"... besides if he looks completely over matched after 2 or 3 ABs can always pinch hit... of he rakes ..he answers at least a bench role question for 2023..

Agree ... probably go with the guys that got them here until they clinch and then insert Dixon as wanted to rest some of the well used regulars.

I could see him some in LF just to give Profar time off (or Myers in LF and Dixon at 1B). Drury may get additional time at 3B to rest Machado and at 2B to rest Croney (or Kim if Croney gets SS).

Bell may the the only one I would keep playing (DH) hoping the extra AB will break him out of his slump.
