Lets Go Padres!...

Should AJP call NYY and say "I need to get down to 13 P today, you got a disgruntled Andujar...How about I send you Tim Hill for him?..and BTW can you put him in a plane so he can be in San Diego around 5pm ..tonight Thanks 😊

Depending on how long Machado is going to be down, could be a good get/or an over reaction.

Dont think Hill will get you Andujar though. NYY still values all its players at the highest level, no matter the performance or issues with playing time, especially since Andujar has so much control left at a decent salary. So might have to sweeten the pot.

Other than 2018 … the now 27 year old Andujar has alternated between injury and underperformance … is now sitting in AAA and playing the OF (he is a poor defensive 3B). So not really interested in him.

On the flip side, not sure the NYY are interested in dealing anyone as the #1 team in MLB and winning at an incredible pace.

Probably will wait to see how long Machado (and Tatis) will be out coupled with what Abrams shows if he is the piece they recalled. Abrams has the chance to provide more than any “fringe” add right now and a waste of trade chips if they try to add major piece for the INF that turns into excess once Machado / Tatis returns.

What's the lineup look like tonight?

I'd go

Profar LF

CJ 2B (.375 over last week and thriving at the 2 spot)

Crone Zone SS

Voit DH

Mazara LF

Alfaro C

Hosmer 1B

Kim 3B

Grishman CF

Balanced lefty/righty up and down

I would change Abrams and Crone defensively. Abrams at SS, and Crone at 2B. Let Abrams be as comfortable as possible IMO.

Yes I don’t see any reason to get too fancy.

While I completely trust Crone at SS Abrams has been almost exclusively a SS so may as well leave him there and leave Crone at 2b.

We don’t want Abrams thinking about his defense any more than he already needs too.

D Backs have Buddy Kennedy at 2b instead of Ketel Marte.

So makes it a little more even with Manny out…even though in reality we also have Nando out.

I’ll be happy to get the win tonight as Gallen has the ability to shut us out.

I’m not that worried about Madbum…..even though he still has games he dominates we’ve usually done OK against him.

Of course, that was with our two best RH hitters.

We need Alfaro and Voit to tee off against him.

Abrams will be playing SS most of the time. I don't see the Padres moving Cronenworth. I also see Abrams batting in the #8 or #9 hole until he earns a higher place in the order by hitting successfully.

He is batting 8th tonight, line up is on SD web page.

Grisham to the lead off spot, to push Profar to 2nd, and Crone to 3rd in the order.

So our 3B and SS are batting 8th and 9th, and hopefully, in less than a month, they will be the heart of our order.

But that will be to the return of Tatis and Machado.
