Padres vs. Cards

I assume Profar and Mateo are back first?

Is that in time for Sunday's game? Or the start of the next series( whoever comes after St. Louis?)?

Those guys are so valuable as multi positional pieces. It'll be good to get them back....ASAP.

The only "good" thing last night was they finally got 2 SFs instead of Ks or DPs.

It was a brutal game to watch with all the walks . Only 4 hits, all by our first 3 hitters, to go with the 12 BB. 4 hours and 8 minutes long over at about 2:30 my time. At least they won this game after losing an almost identical game to Pittsburg . At least the Defense was pretty good again and Musgrove really battled through 5.  One big concern is Pagan. Opponents OPS is .812 and 4 HRs in 16 innings  are scary numbers. I hope Pom gets healthy and that Adams gets his slider to be more consistent because it is almost unhittable. Would love to see us wi 1 of the next 2 with STL.

I don't think they can come back until Tuesday vs Rox... (7 days out started 5/11), then Hos the next day.

Assumes minimum time out, 2 negative tests, etc

I couldn't belive it was "only" the 6th/7th inning at 10 PM when I checked in... ugly!

But I will TAKE that ugly win...  just enough again.  Don't see us winning any games by blowout until we get our offensive firepower back.

Accomplished the main goal of not getting swept under the circumstances.  I'm optimistic our 4 "SP"s likely to pitch these 2 games can keep us in the games...  but Wainwright might carve this lineup up.

Well who saw this coming ?

I really like Andreoli and I think that we should think about keeping him over Mateo. Andreoli might be just as fast and can play a much better outfield.

Paddock was pretty good , his best this year. Too many pitches but the 12 pitch at bat by Edman ran up his count. Baby steps but better

Maybe Pham should only play against St Louis,  he really has a chip on his shoulder for them

Need a game like that every now and then ... big lead early just takes some pressure off.

Liked that Nola seemed to get his hitting going.

Since he has returned from the IL ... Paddack seems to be throwing a FB with more velo and going more directly after the hitters. Still the pitch count builds quickly ... control is better but not good (missing “closer”) and a lot of foul balls.

Watching the first 3 innings tonight. 2 observations; 1) I love Kim's pace on the mound, and 2) he's only accurate 50% of the time with his pitches. Our guys need to stop swinging at balls!

I guess the guys are paying attention!

Kim walks 3 in the next inning, 2 with bases loaded. Tie game.

Good to see them make the adjustment.

Another team win. Good patience at the plate, and good all around pitching. I said this in another post but I wouldn't mind replacing Mateo with one of the call ups.

Not sure  when get any of the covids back but the replacements really did their job

Amazing SWEEP given the circumstances.  Kudos to these "taken for granted" guys for contributing in big games & big wins vs a very good team.

Now have to not let up vs the Rox.
