Padres Vs Cardinals Game Thread

I hate that call to bunt with Spangy.

The winning run is already in scoring position.

Spangenberg is “very” difficult to double up.

With Pirela already on second and no outs you have 3 chances to score him with just a single...plus the outfielders are playing “deep”.

Dont give up the out!

Just about anything other than a K was gonna get Pirela to 3B anyway.

I didnt understand keeping the bunt on with two strikes.  You could already tell Spangy wasnt getting a good read on bunting the moving fastball

The way our offense is going I hate giving up the out unless we only had a runner on first.

The next two hitters struck out(typical).

Maybe Spangenberg would have won the game with a hit?

We”ll never know.

That one is on Andy Green.....these guys don't work on bunting

You really think Matt Stairs knows how to bunt or how to teach someone how to bunt ?

In a one run game, with the majors worst offense, you've got to get the guy to third, as there so many more ways to score from 3rd than 2nd, without the benefit of a hit.

I agree giving up outs is tough, especially for this bunch, but that was a good call.

So in STL, we take 2 of 3 for a 5th series win in a row. First time since 2010. I know this is supposed to be a wasted season, but its nice to see some winning baseball from SD. Great day for Margot, both at the plate and in the field. What a catch!!

Ozuna shoulda got one in the side after walking down the line watching that HR.

I agree, however I dont think thats the norm anymore. It definitely was a punk move to admire it like it was out of the stadium and cleared the wall by about 5ft.

It's the norm on anything pimped to that degree. Pansy Green strikes again.

LOL

I get the feeling your not a Andy Green Fan

That's the Social Norm....it is California after all and the Padres follow their leader

Now if a Padre had done that......I'm not sure if it would be allowed by Green and Matheny would have gone to the "Unwritten" rule book
