Oops thanks. I think every team shows up in my auto fill now and sometimes I go on autopilot haha.

Quote from Jeremy Hill on April 13, 2023, 8:44 amNo Burnes in the series. Woodruff and Houser are on the IL. From a pitching standpoint this seems like a good time to see the Brewers.

Their bats were hot the last couple of days, so Martinez needs to get on his game tonight. Because not only are the Brewers bats, but to keep his spot in the rotation.

Quote from 3fingersplit on April 13, 2023, 11:23 amMartinez is a head scratcher...he was resigned to be in the starting rotation as first option but when Musgrove comes back who is going to be the odd man out. Wacha and Lugo have been rock solid and Weathers is showing better than expected and the kid has some grit along with a fastball that he seems to be able to take up a notch when needed, Snell is Snell and his fastball has some serious zip but from what I have seen his balance is off because his arm is late hence the high pitches and when he actually gets on top of a pitch he seems to really spike the breaking ball...he just needs to get his balance right. I don't see him being out of the starting rotation. So if they go with a 6 man rotation...Darvish, Musgrove, Snell, Wacha, Lugo...it seems like it will either Weathers or Martinez moved to the bullpen....Snell would not be an option and having two left handed starters would be a better rotation in my opinion. Weathers would be disappointed but like I said...the kid has grit and the stuff plus a really good pickoff move and Martinez can certainly do it as he showed last year BUT....if he isn't a starter would he pout about going back to the pen ?
I know he has 10 million reasons to just suck it up and pitch wherever but given what happened with Team USA...who could have definitely used him coming out of the bullpen, I just don't know.
Tonight will be a BIG game for Martinez.

Quote from MrPadre19 on April 13, 2023, 11:55 amIt may be about which they think will perform better coming out of the Pen rather than which is better "in the rotation".
All I know is the Pen will be improved with either moving into it.
