I’m finding this debut mediocre. We can all see the stuff, but the control is so hit and miss in this game. Hopefully it’s just first game jitters but control has been a multiple year issue.

He also seems unable to locate the breaking ball, it’s been all but an afterthought.

Im surprised after being the outs being hit so hard in the 5th they let him back out for the 6th.

Considering where he's been the past few years I think that was a pretty solid debut for Gore. Holding the defending champs to 2 runs over 5+ with mostly just a fastball is impressive. He'll need to consistently command the rest of his pitches to be the guy we thought he was going to be in 2019, but I think he's headed in the right direction.
